I have the same engine and got a P0016 code. I replaced the sensor but no luck, I removed the sensor and used my bore scope and could clearly see the exhaust sprocket phaser was 80% gone. I opened the small inspection door below it and just so happened this broken phaser was hanging on a bolt so I fished it out - LUCKY!! Do you know if this sprocket can be replaced by just removing the valve cover and not taking the entire timing chain cover out?

i have same problem with mine. both axles are locked and i have vacuum to both lines . so being a 2005 f150 im changing everything a little pricey but worth it .beats paying garage labor nice job showing us . what iwe to buy oem or are they all the same

What do you do if you dont have the tablet for calibration? Do you still recommend repairing it my self?

What about that same issues yours is having but on a 08? No high pressure fuel pump?

Do you have a way (or can you build something) for the Holley Dominator to work with the OE CAN system from the IRS from a 2018 Camaro ZL1 (graphed into a high-end C-10 build) We've used the IRS's LSD with a crude control system (switches and a rheostat) for track use, but need a system for street/show vehicles to use this suspension/diff system. There are so many adavantages of GM's IRS, we think this integration to Holley's system would be game changing. Thanks!

PERFECT STARTING REPLACEMENT OF OIL DRAIN WASHER (CRUSH WASHER), TORQUING OIL DRAIN PLUG AND REPLACING THE FACTORY OIL FILTER HAND TIGHT ; THEN 3/4 TIGHTENING OIL FILTER.

Just watched this out of curiousity and I must say that am impressed with the debugging skills. I was on the team maintaining the VMCU software for Ford (6 years). These problems were created prior to joining the team. This was probably on the Sync2 with the Star12 processors. As I recall that was an old 16-bit micro and a pain to work with using very antiquated development tools. Knowing what I know, I am not surprised in the least that this bug escaped testing. The team had some really lazy people on it who milked the job for years with almost zero productivity. I worked mostly on Sync3 and I did the vast majority of the working porting the VMCU code to Sync4 by myself. After the port to Sync4, Ford claimed that it wanted to pull work back in-house so they could make releases faster and spread knowledge within Ford. Ford then inexplicitly outsourced the VMCU development and support to a company hailing out of Vietnam. I was told this by a former employee at Elektrobit who maintained the CCPU side of the VMCU. I also worked at Elektrobit for a couple of years. At Elektrobit there were terrible managers there who hid bugs from Ford. Just awful. I quit because of that. Ford was later sued in a class action suit out in CA and they lost over the shoddy condition of Sync at the time. Anyway, bravo on debugging this issue successfully, not many could have pulled it off.

Question: Im faced with having to do this to my 09' Acadia, Im not by no means down for this job but its my only vehicle currently so it is a must 🙄. I know they have multiple kits out there and all include less or more components depending on how much money you want or can spend. That being said, how necessary is it to replace the cam phasers and sprockets, the water pump, the oil pump etc.... Like Im OCD so like even though It is going to kill me only being able to afford just the basic kit that only includes the Chains, Tensioners, and Guides, a lot of people dont have $1200 bucks laying around to do all the components behind that timing cover. So just wondering if it is a dire to replace everything or can you be ok just replacing the chains, guides, and tensioners???? Thank you for your video I def will be watching this as I do mine.

Wait. I understand that power functions of a device work off wattage so voltage times amps - power - So a drop in voltage is an increase in amperage. But then why does fluke state a drop in voltage is a drop in current like the traditional VIR table. Can anyone explain this

2003 monte carlo ss pace car 3.8....After watching a lot of video's this was the one that solved my fuel filling problem.With a 3ft. 3/8 clear hose ,forced the check ball open and with the hose hit it with P B Blaster .Work's like new.....Thanks for share........

Ive been having the parasitic draw on a 2015 fusion se...seemed shutting off blu tooth helped but after about 1 year car sat for 3 days and was completely dead again...

Many new engines, get the valves very contaminated with carbon specially direct injection also change your oil regularly also learn how to check your oil 😊

Great video. My 2500 savana is having same issue. When trying to fill gas , the gas station pump handle doesn't click but gas just spills out from filler neck after only a few dollars. I've checked all items by watching your video. All looks good. Also the car's gas gauge always shows full even when empty. Can a bad sending unit be the culprit? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I just called the dealership in the end, they stock one acdelco kit for the 3.6 3 chains 3 tensioners, 3 tensioner gaskets, both valve cover gaskets, and the timing cover gaskets. All guides were fine after getting into it, that must be the gm service repair

Thanks for the vid this was helpful but I was using the factory vvt actuators sprockets. Triangle right bank, and circle left bank. Also used the acdelco kit which is the same yellow and pink links. It appears the reason the right bank is dirtier is because you dump oil into and fill the left bank cylinder head

I ordered a cam phaser sprocket online they sent me a left side sprocket I needed the right can I still use this for the right side intake

I had fan blower replaced last year. Due to it burned out due to mice possibly stuffing it. ? But have water originally on passenger side, do not see water on ground. Now drive side has it see it coming from under the dash where bolt or mount comes through. But the passenger side looks like a flood. I Dont drive much, due to a remote employee. Just hit 100K miles. Vehicle was bought used in 2019, but it's 2018. Car been on road since 2017 due to being a car rental when I purchased it with 30K.
